Most of us have heard this song. My knowledge about Hindi music is not much. But I did hear this song many times in TV and other places. A prayer group requested me to do karaoke tracks for a bunch of songs. I had not heard the originals of these songs ever before. So I did the Naroth version. People loved it. Mind you, I did not follow the typical orchestratation of a bhajan. They were a bit more positive. Not the morose music you hear some times. he he he.
Posting all the Bhajan songs might not be possible. So I am picking one from the bunch. This one is religion free so whether you are Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jain or Sikh, you can still enjoy the song and its lyrics. For those that are used to the original version (Film: Guddi (1971), Singer: Vani Jayaram, Music: Vasanth Desai.), this may be a bit of a shock.
The singers here are Ramya Janardhanan and Neethu Shekhar. Good family friends of ours.
Here is the song.
I call this song the stress reliever. Try listening to it loud with your eyes closed. It works some magic in you.
This whole week, I'll be just posting miscellaneous mp3 clips. From next monday onwards, I'll get back to the album details. I am going to travel this weekend to Los Angeles to meet a good friend Sudesh Balan. Sudesh is a cinematographer. To say he is passionate about the craft is an understatement. I am excited to meet him and I am so glad he agreed to help me with the music videos. I'll be meeting my best friend Sukhi Pabla as well. Sukhi is a film producer. More details on these two in the coming days.
