Meet George Paul

You all know Jose K Paul. He is the artist behind Kanmani CD work. George, his younger brother is gifted as well and I had the distinct pleasure of knowing George during this trip. George is designing a brand new site of Album Kanmani. We will have it up in a few days.

George is quite an accomplished graphic artist.

The First Sale

The first sale to my brother (in law).


The CDs are priced at Rs. 75. The first one was sold for Rs. 100 and that was killer profit and oh so easy. he he he.


One down. A few more thousands to go.

Released

Release

When you hear "Release" what comes to mind.. A large room full of well dressed people, VIPS, a stage, Mike hum, a buzz and flashes from press photographers. Well "Kanmani" release is going to be in Mookambi temple. A quiet place (except for special days). This is where musicians go to start their new ventures. This is where people take their kids to start their education. The temple hosts goddess Saraswathi who blesses fine arts, music and education.

I still believe music is a gift from above (regardless of your religion). You are just a conduit. So when folks suggested about this, dedicating it to the source made sense. I'll see you all in a couple of days.

For those who have been sending me emails and orkut scraps, checking this blog, rating the utube video, adding comments and above all, spreading the word, THANK YOU. With out that Kanmani will be lost.

I have used Revver for its high quality video. Audio is passable but is in stereo. I am also noticing audio/video sync issues. But for these clips, revver seem to fit the bill perfectly.

You will see a new list to the top right corner of this blog. This is the Kanmani Jukebox. All the song excerpts are available right here. I am removing the previous two posts. They are redundant.

In about a week, albumkanmani.com will be up. I'm planning to put sound bytes, video clips, photos, news items and stuff in there. I'll set up an RSS feed for podcasts and stuff. I'd very much like to post that music video on the web ASAP. I'll just have to check once with the TV channels if they have any issue with that.

The site Kanmani.com was already taken. I tried chasing that owner to see if I could get it from him. No luck.

Kanmani has also been submitted to itunes USA. I'm not sure how long it will take for it to show up there.

In one of my previous blog's I talked about Nikhil. The flautist in Kanmani. Prasad Bhandarkar rendered the flute pieces for one song "Kanmani". The rest of them are all Nikhil.
