This one is long time due. I kept postponing this because I felt that I wouldn't be able to give it justice by rushing. Yet I find myself today trying to update my blog in a rush. Fortunately for me, Sudesh's new site is up. Which sums up who he is. Click here.
I met Sudesh through Balu. He was in Illinois at that time. We talked on the phone a few times and I was happy when I learned that Sudesh was going to come down to Los Angeles. Sudesh just finished his Masters in Film Making from Souther Illinois University, Carbondale. This course is equivalent to a PhD and immediately qualifies him to an Assistant Professor post in any University that teaches film.
After talking with him a few times on the phone a few times, I made a trip to LA 3 weeks ago. My primary goal was to meet Sudesh. To start the beginning of a working relationship. He turned out to be a very warm person that makes you so comfortable that you cant wait to start sharing your war, victory and failure stories with him. I've had a great time working with Sudesh in the past month. I have learned quite a bit from him about film making, work flow and the general though process that goes behind creative work.
Sudesh was the Director of Photography for my short film. While working onthe film, he has stretched me a bit and I like it that way. He has encouraged me to go one step ahead of that impulsive idea that just popped into my mind and not to accept it as the finale. He is a perfectionist. A trait that an artist cannot live without. Especially for a cinematographer.
When you see the short film posted on Sunday, you will realize the quality of this work.
