People compare Madhu to Yesudas. Its true. Madhu retains a lot of qualities of Yesudas's vocals. However, I don't like to compare people because everyone is unique. Madhu is a highly gifted individual. He can pick up tunes and cues quickly. He has a deep knowledge of Carnatic Music. He knows how to wield his skills in classical music in light music. He has a tremendous range. From deep bass to very high pitches.
Here is a blessing that Madhu brings to a recording engineer. Regardless of the loudness of his singing, Madhu knows how to position himself from the mic to get a very even recording. Only a recording engineer can understand this. I was amazed. Only veterans can do this and our Madhu Balakrishnan in fact is a veteran.
There are two songs that Madhu has performed for in this album. The song Neela Ravu is a semi classical + Jazz fusion style. Its beautifully done. The other song is one of anxiety and has turned out excellent as well. This one is kind of lighter in expression. It reminds me of some of the very old sad songs form the seventies sung by Yesudas.

Neelaravu is simply beautiful... the music.. the lyrics and most importantly shri Madhu's voice...
Both Neelaravu and Kaattil are very melodious. Neelaravu is an intricate composition. Good work; keep it up. And, Madhu's singing is awesome, as always.
