My Studio

Okay.. I've been ranting nonstop for almost a week.
For a change, I thought I'll post some pictures..

My den.. where the album was created. The only thing I used the studios in Kerala were to record the vocals and the tabla. Everything else was created right here.

The most important element in this picture is that thing wrapped in orange right in the middle of the picture. This is my son. Vishnu. He calls himself superman and occassionally he assumes to be a tiger or a croco-tiger (means crocodile in his language). I get nervous when he is in there alone because you have no idea what he is capable of. He is a very affectionate boy and a lot of fun to be around but when he is left alone, he is a newsmaker at home. So last week, I changed the locks to the room. He didn't like it locked up and threw a tantrum for the keys.

That's my Rode Mic. I love it. I feel that it gives me better vocal recordings than all the studios that I had recorded at. The speakers are from M-Audio. And below on the table is the Digi 002.

Check the subwoofer out. Its massive.

Thats the M-Audio Axiom 49 midi controller. You can see a couple of external harddrives next to the monitor. Oh look at what's on the screen? It is this blog..

This list of software includes Cubase, Protools, Ableton Live and a whole bunch of soft synthesizers. Then I also have the Adobe Video and Web collection.Let me give you a tip. Software isn't cheap. So make sure you need it before you even buy it.

This is my mobile studio. I recorded the violin, flute and sax parts with this set up. A Dell E1750 and a Motu Ultra lite. Saved me a lot of grief.

My first synth work Station. I drooled at it for almost 3 years before I bought it. I don't use it much now a days. Its a great keyboard.

So that concludes the studio tour. When my daughter Nidhi came in and saw Vishnu's picture posted, she asked me why she was not there. I did not have an answer. She happily posed for me and superman didn't want to get left out. So here they are. My blessings in life. Nidhi and Vishnu.
So thats it. Thats my studio.
